To a solution of tert-butyl N-[(1S,2S)-2-{[3-chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-2-yl]amino}cyclopentyl]carbamate (2.23 g, 5.87 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane (20 ml) was added HCl in 1,4-dioxane (4 M, 15 ml, 60.0 mmol). The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 18 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound.
