To a solution of benzyl N-[8-(2-methylpropane-2-sulfonamido)-1,4-dioxaspiro[4.4]nonan-7-yl]-N-[(1R)-1-phenylethyl]carbamate (331 mg, 0.64 mmol) in THF (1.1 ml) was added HCl (aq, 2M, 1.65 ml, 3.30 mmol) was stirred at room temperature for 18 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo and azeotropically distilled with toluene to afford the title compound.
