To a solution of tert-butyl N-[(1S,2S)-2-{[3-cyclopropyl-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrazin-2-yl]amino}cyclopentyl]carbamate (1.54 g, 3.99 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane (14 ml) was added HCl in 1,4-dioxane (4M, 10 ml, 40 mmol). The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 20 hours and was then concentrated in vacuo and azeotropically distilled with toluene to afford the title compound.
