Reaction Steps

To a solution of Example 8E (254 mg, 0.457 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (4 mL), methanol (2 mL) and water (2 mL) was added lithium hydroxide monohydrate (126 mg, 3 mmol). The mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The mixture was then neutralized with 5% HCl and diluted with ethyl acetate (200 mL). After washing with brine, it was dried over Na2SO4. Evaporation of solvent gave title compound.
