A solution of potassium carbonate (2.5 g, 18.09 mmol), 2-iodopropane (1.0 ml, 10.00 mmol) and 7-morpholin-4-yl-2-(2-quinolin-2-yl-ethyl)-3,5-dihydro-2H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridine-1,6-dione (0.5 g, 1.281 mmol, see Example 15) were dissolved in acetonitrile (30 ml). The suspension was stirred at about 105° C. for about 24 h. After cooling to r.t., LC-MS analysis indicated complete conversion. The crude product was purified by preparative HPLC to afford the title compound (70 mg, 0.162 mmol, 12.64% yield).
