Procedure

A solution of 3,8-difluoroindolo[2,1-b]quinazoline-6,12-dione (0.1 mmol, Example 36), t-butyl carbamate (0.11 mmol) and lithium hydride (0.12 mmol) in DMF (0.1 mM) is stirred at 70° C. for 12 h. The resulting reaction mixture is diluted with chloroform, washed with 0.1N HCl, sodium bicarbonate solution, dried (MgSO4) and the solvent is evaporated. Silica gel chromatography (1% MeOH/CHCl3) gives 3-(N-t-butyloxycarbonylamino)-8-fluoroindolo[2,1-b]quinazoline-6,12-dione.
