Reaction Steps
A solution containing 0.92 g of 3,4-dihydroxy-5-nitrobenzaidehyde. and 0.49g of hydroxylamine hydrochloride in 5.0 ml of formic acid was refluxed for 1 h. 50 ml of water was added and the product was filtered and washed withwater. Yield 0.3 g (33%), m.p. 175°-178° C.
