Reaction Steps
2-Methyl-5-cyanobenzo(b)furan (17.25 g., 0.11 mole) was treated with methyl methylthiomethyl sulphoxide as described in Example 8, Part B, to yield 1-amino-1-[2-methyl-5-benzo(b)furanyl]-2-methylsulphinyl-2-methylthioethylene (12.4 g.), m.p. 185°-186° C.
