Procedure
To a solution of the product of step f) (0.5 g) and (1R-trans)-2-phenyl-cyclopropanamine, [R-(R*,R*)]-2,3-dihydroxybutanedioate (1:1) (prepared as described by L. A. Mitscher et al., J. Med. Chem. 1986, 29, 2044) (0.4 g) in dichloromethane (50 ml) was added N,N-diisopropylethylamine (2 ml) and the resulting solution was stirred and heated at reflux for 3 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated to dryness under reduced pressure and purified by chromatography (SiO2; 4:1 isohexane:ethyl acetate) to give the subtitle compound (0.6 g).
