0.23 g of 1,8-diazobicyclo(5,4,0)-7-undecene was added dropwise to a mixture of 0.45 g of 4-ethoxycarbonyl-1-(1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)imidazole-5-sulfonamide, 0.41 g of N-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine-2-yl)phenylcarbamate and 5 ml of acetonitrile. After stirring the reaction mixture at room temperature for 20 minutes, 20 ml of ice water was added thereto and the mixture was filtered. The filtrate was made acidic with use of conc. hydrochloric acid, and resulting precipitated crystals were collected by filtration, washed with water and ethyl ether, and dried to obtain 0.45 g of the title compound. m.p.: 169° to 171° C.
