1.68 g of O-benzyl-hydroxylamine hydrochloride suspended in 30 ml of methylene chloride were added to 1.52 ml of triethylamine and then 3.2 g of the product of Step A in 10 ml of methylene chloride were added dropwise with stirring for 2 hours, followed by evaporating to dryness under reduced pressure. The residue was chromatographed on silica, (eluent: methylene chloride-ethyl acetate 96-4) to obtain 3.75 g of the expected product melting at 134° C. after crystallization from a 1-1 mixture of methylene chloride and isopropyl ether.
