Reaction Steps
N-Methylfuranylindazole B was prepared from furanylindazole A and iodomethane in the presence of potassium t-butoxide at room temperature. Vilsmier-Haack reaction (POCl3/DMF) of furanylindazole B gave the corresponding aldehyde D which was then subjected to NaBH4 reduction to give the title compound 2.
