Reaction Steps
(R1=methyl; R2=ethyl; R3=4-methoxyphenyl) 2.2 g (7.4 mmol) of 1-ethyl-5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-3-methyl-6,7-dihydro-1H-pyrazolo[4,3-e][1,4]diazepin-8-one are refluxed in toluene with 6 g (14.8 mmol) of Lawesson's reagent to give 2 g (87%) of an expected compound of type E (see Scheme 1).
