Procedure

BSA (manufactured by Oriental Yeast K.K., F-V; 30 mg) was dissolved in 0.1M phosphate buffer (pH 7.0; 1 ml), and thereto was added an NHS-SS-biotin solution (manufactured by Pierce Chemical Co., 16.8 mg/ml in 0.1M phosphate buffer, pH 7.0; 1 ml) and the mixture was reacted at 30° C. for 1 hour. The reaction solution was centrifuged and the supernatant was subjected to Sephadex G-25 column (φ1.5 cm×30 cm, eluent: 50 mM carbonate buffer, pH 9.6) to give a biotin-BSA fraction.
