Reaction Steps
Analogously to Example 4, 6-cyano-1-hydroxy-1-(5-isothiazolyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene (Example 15) in glacial acetic acid is convened into the title compound using tin(II) chloride and 36.5% hydrochloric acid.
