Procedure

To a solution of 445 mg of N-(1-diethoxyphosphoryl-3-phenylpropyl)-leucine benzyl ester in 10 ml of ethanol was added 100 mg of 10% Pd--C, after which the mixture was stirred vigorously under atmospheric pressure of hydrogen at room temperature for 24 hours. The Pd--C was filtered off, and the solvent was distilled off to yield the title compound as a light-yellow oil (356 mg).

Workup

  1. filtrationThe Pd--C was filtered off
  2. distillationthe solvent was distilled off
