Procedure

Rebamipide (100 mg) was weighed into a glass vial. 15 ml of a saturated solution of nicotinamide in nitromethane was added and the vial sealed. The resulting slurry was placed in a shaker and matured for 5 days (RT to 50° C. on an 8 hour cycle, heating to 50° C. for 4 hours and then cooling to RT for a further 4 hours). The product was then filtered under vacuum and dried in a vacuum oven at 50° C. overnight.
