To a solution of N-(6-chloro-2-fluoro-3-hydroxy-phenyl)-2-fluoro-5-(3-fluorophenyl)benzamide (200 mg, 0.53 mmol, 1.0 eq) in THF under N2 was added dropwise a solution of BH3 (1M in THF, 2.65 mL, 2.65 mmol, 5.0 eq) at room temperature. The reaction mixture was heated at 60° C. for 3 h. After cooling, the resulting mixture was quenched by addition of 1M HCl and the mixture extracted with EtOAc. The combined organic extracts were dried (Na2SO4), filtered and evaporated in vacuo. The residue was purified by column chromatography (EtOAc:petroleum ether, 0:1 to 1:4) to give the title compound as an oil (130 mg, 68%).
