Procedure
3,5-bis(1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-1-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-c]pyridine in methanol was treated with 4M HCl in 1,4-dioxane at 50° C. for 3 h. Volatile solvent was evaporated in vacuo. The resultant residue was purified by reverse phase HPLC to give 163 as a white solid (34.2%). 1H NMR (500 MHz, DMSO) δ 13.35 (s, 1H), 8.96 (s, 1H), 8.47 (s, 1H), 8.29 (s, 1H), 8.15 (s, 1H), 8.10 (d, J=5.6 Hz, 2H), 3.96 (s, 3H), 3.90 (s, 3H). LC/MS: m/z 280.0 [M+1]
