A solution of compound 116f (1.48 g, 4 mmol, 1.0 eq) and K2CO3 (1.1 g, 8 mmol, 2.0 eq) in MeOH (20 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 16 h. The mixture was quenched with water (100 mL), extracted with EA (100 mL) two times, the organic layer was combined, dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated to give 8-benzyl-6,6-difluoro-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octan-3-ol 116g as a colorless oil, 1.02 g, crude yield: 100° A. MS: calc'd (MH+) 254, measured (MH+) 254.
