N-Iodosuccinimide (0.23 g, 1.0 mmol) was added to a solution of 6-(2,6-dichloro-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine (0.30 g) in N,N-dimethylformamide (5.0 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at 40° C. overnight. The reaction mixture was diluted with water and quenched with aqueous Na2S2O3. The precipitates formed were filtered, washed with water, ether, and dried in vacuum to afford the desired product (0.33 g). LCMS (M+H)+=450.8/452.8.
