Procedure
A mixture of 4-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole (300 mg, 1.5 mmol)(Aldrich Cat. No. 525057), (S)-(−)-methyloxirane (130 μL, 1.9 mmol) and triethylamine (0.45 mL, 3.2 mmol) in acetonitrile (1.0 mL) in a reaction vial was stirred at 50° C. for 2 h. After cooling it was concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by flash chromatography on a silica gel column with ethyl acetate in hexanes (0-50%) to afford the desired product (0.35 g). LCMS (M+H)+=253.0.
