Procedure

2-(2'-Isopropylphenyl)quinoline-4-carbonylguanidine (1.1 g) formed in Example 5 was suspended in 25 ml of ethanol, and 7.5 ml (1M) of an ethanol solution of methanesulfonic acid were added thereto dropwise while being cooled with ice. Ten minutes later, ethyl ether was added thereto, and the crystals precipitated were collected by filtration, and dried to obtain 1.10 g of the above-mentioned compound as a white crystal. m.p. 146°-154° C.
