4-{[(4-Chloro-benzenesulfonyl)-((R)-5,5-difluoro-2-oxo-azepan-3-yl)-amino]-methyl}-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.105 g, 0.2 mmol) was dissolved in a mixture of trifluoroacetic acid and dichloromethane (1:1) and stirred overnight. After extraction with aqueous sodium bicarbonate solution the organic layer was dried (MgSO4) and evaporated to yield 80 mg (94%) of 4-chloro-N-((R)-5,5-difluoro-2-oxo-azepan-3-yl)-N-piperidin-4-ylmethyl-benzenesulfonamide;
