2-[4-(2-Cyano-phenyl)-piperazine-1-carbonyl]-4-[5-(phenyl)-tetrazol-2-yl]-pyrrolidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (6) is added to CF3COOH, and the reaction mixture is stirred for about 5 h. After removal of CF3COOH, the residue is dissolved in DCM, washed, dried and concentrated to give 2-(4-{4-[5-(phenyl)-tetrazol-2-yl]-pyrrolidine-2-carbonyl}-piperazin-1-yl)-benzonitrile (2).
