Procedure

Similar procedure as described in example 15a was used, starting with thiophen-2-ylmethyl-amine, rhodanine, mercuric chloride and DIEA to give 2-(thiophen-2-ylmethyl-amino)-thiazol-4-one. LC-MS m/e 259 (MH+).
