Procedure

A solution of the product of Example 18E (56 mg, 0.112 mmol) in 6 mL of tetrahydrofuran was treated with a solution of tetrabutylammonium fluoride (1M-in-tetrahydrofuran, 1 mL, 1 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at rt for 4 h, then the solvent was evaporated, and the residue was chromatographed on silica gel, eluting with 70% ethyl acetate-hexane, to afford the title compound as a tan foam (27 mg, 62%). 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 7.70 (d, J=8.4 Hz, 2H), 7.58 (d, J=8.3 Hz, 2H), 7.57 (s, 1H), 7.11-7.22 (m, 3H), 4.78 (d, J=3.7 Hz, 1H), 3.86 (m, 1H), 3.38 (s, 3H), 2.73-2.98 (m, 3H), 2.37 (m, 1H), 1.89 (m, 1H), 1.63 (m, 1H); MS (ESI+) m/z 389 (M+H)+.
