A suspension of 0.15 g (0.25 mmol) [6-bromo-5-(1-isopropyl-piperidin-4-yloxy)-1H-indol-2-yl]-[4-(piperidine-1-sulfonyl)-piperazin-1-yl]-methanone (example 1), 119 mg (0.76 mmol) 2-chloropyridine-4-boronic acid, 91 mg (0.50 mmol) copper(II) acetate and 80 μL (78 mg, 1.0 mmol) pyridine in 4 ml chloroform was stirred 18 h at 35° C. The volatile components were evaporated under reduced pressure and the residue was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel with a gradient of dichloromethane:methanol (100:0 to 50:50 v/v) as eluant to afford 84 mg (47%) of the title compound as a light-yellow solid.
