A solution of 85 mg (0.12 mmol) [6-bromo-1-[2-(tert-butyl-dimethyl-silanyloxy)-ethyl]-5-(1-isopropyl-piperidin-4-yloxy)-1H-indol-2-yl]-(4-cyclopropanesulfonyl-piperazin-1-yl)-methanone in 2 mL dichloromethane was cooled to 0° C. and 1.0 mL (1.49 g, 13.1 mmol) trifluoroacetic acid were added. The cooling bath was removed and after stirring for 1 h at room temperature the solution was evaporated to dryness. The residue was taken up in dichloromethane and extracted with 1M aqueous sodium hydroxide solution. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried over magnesium sulfate, filtered and evaporated to afford 71 mg (99%) of the title compound as colourless oil.
