Reaction Steps
Using a procedure similar to that of Example 26-C, the ester is hydrolyzed using LiOH.H2O (1.50 g, 2.2 equivalents), water (20 mL) and THF (60 mL) to afford the acid (2.93 g, 59% for the two steps).
