Reaction Steps
To 8 mg (0.011 mmol) of compound 8 was added 2 mL of 5 N NaOH. The reaction was allowed to stir at ambient temperature for 6 hours. The reaction was acidified with 6 N HCl and the solution was added to a small reverse-phase (C18) solid phase extraction column. The column was washed with H2O followed by 50:50 (v:v) CH3CN:H2O to elute the product. This provided 5 mg of compound 12.
