Procedure
A mixture of 126 mg 6-[3-(6-methoxypyridin-3-yl)-1-trityl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl]-3-(pyridin-2-yl)imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine (compound in Example 363), 5 mL of 5 N hydrochloric acid and 5 mL ethanol was heated overnight under reflux. The reaction solution was evaporated, and the residue was subjected to azeotropic distillation with toluene. The residue was triturated with methanol and ethyl acetate. The crystals were collected by filtration and then dried under reduced pressure with a vacuum pump, to give 66 mg of the title compound as white crystals.
