Procedure
To a stirred solution of Example 1A (0.66 g, 2.2 mmol) in dichloromethane (7 mL) was added 1-pyrrolidinecarbonyl chloride (0.28 mL, 2.2 mmol) and triethylamine (0.625 mL, 4.5 mmol). The mixture was heated in a sealed vial for 17 hours, allowed to cool to room temperature, diluted dichloromethane, washed with 5% NaHCO3, dried and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by flash column on SiO2 eluting with 20% hexanes/ethyl acetate to give 0.4 g (40%)of the title compound. mp 120–121° C. 1H NMR (CDCl3, 300 MHz) δ 1.79–2.10 (m, 4H), 2.70 (m, 4H), 3.13 (m, 1H), 3.35–3.78 (bm, 8H), 4.32 (m, 1H), 6.65 (m, 2H), 7.30 (m, 3H), 7.49 (m, 1H), 7.76 (m, 1H), 8.28 (m, 1H).
