A solution of Example 3C (75 mg, 0.25 mmol) in 4M HCl in dioxane (2 mL) at room temperature was stirred for 1 hour, concentrated, then purified by reverse phase HPLC with acetonitrile/water to provide the desired product. MS (ESI) m/e 202 (M+H)+; 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 7.81 (br s, 2H), 4.07 (d, 1H), 3.35 (m, 1H), 1.80–1.67 (m, 5H), 1.57–1.51 (m, 1H), 1.46–1.17 (m, 5H), 1.00–0.90 (m, 2H); Anal. Calcd. for C10H20ClNO3: C, 50.52; H, 8.48; N, 5.89. Found: C, 50.18; H, 8.56; N, 5.67.
