2-cyano-N-cyclohexyl-3-ethoxy-prop-2-enamide (Intermediate #17) (605 mg, 2.73 mmol) and methyl 4-hydrazinylbenzoate hydrochloride (Intermediate #123) (552 mg, 2.73 mmol) were suspended in ethanol (20 mL). DIPEA (351 mg, 2.73 mmol) was added and the mixture heated to 70° C. for 1 h. The reaction mixture was cooled to ambient and the resulting precipitate recovered by filtration, washed with ether and dried in vacuo to give the title compound as a white solid. (618 mg 66%)
