Procedure
To a solution of N-{3-[(2-amino[1,3]thiazolo[5,4-b]pyridin-5-yl)oxy]-4-methylphenyl}-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzamide (200 mg, 0.450 mmol) in pyridine (5 mL) was added cyclopropanecarbonyl chloride (77.5 μL, 1.12 mmol), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 16 hr. The reaction mixture was evaporated under reduced pressure, and a mixture of the obtained residue, methanol (3 mL) and 0.5N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (3 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 30 min. Water was added to the reaction mixture, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with saturated brine, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and filtrated. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the residue was precipitated with tetrahydrofuran to give the title compound (130 mg, 56%) as a white powder.
