Procedure

p-Toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate was added to a solution of 7-[3-(4-benzo[b]thiophen-4-yl-piperazin-1-yl)propoxy]-2-methyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-isoquinolin-1-one in methanol and dichloromethane and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was recrystallized from ethanol and ethyl acetate and thereby 7-[3-(4-benzo[b]thiophen-4-yl-piperazin-1-yl)propoxy]-2-methyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-isoquinolin-1-one p-toluenesulfonate was obtained in the form of a white powder.
