Procedure

To a solution of 3,5-dichloro-4-[(10-methoxypyrido[4,3-c]-1,6-naphthyridin-6-yl)amino]benzonitrile (140 mg, 0.35 mmol) in chloroform (3 mL) was added boron tribromide (2.5 mL, 2.5 mmol, 1M in dichloromethane) and the mixture was heated at 85° C. for 45 min in a sealed tube. After cooling to room temperature, the reaction was diluted with ethyl acetate and washed with saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate, followed by brine. The organic layer was dried with sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by column chromatography on silica gel eluting with MeOH in dichloromethane to afford the title compound.
