Reaction Steps

The cleavable diol is made by the following manner. Compound (61) is reacted with 5 equivalents of 1-aminohexane (65) in methylene chloride. Wash with brine and dry to yield 2,5-dimethylhexane-2,5-diyl bis(2-(hexylamino)acetate) (66).
