Procedure
Isoamyl nitrite (1.9 eq) was added to a stirred solution of D2 in HCl (0.5 M solution in MeOH) at 0° C. After the consumption of the starting material (15-30 min), the solution was allowed to warm to RT and was made alkaline (pH=9) by addition of 10% NaOH. The resulting precipitate was collected by filtration affording the title compound as a white solid.
