Procedure

A mixture of 1-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-3-[(trimethylsilyl)ethynyl]pyridazin-4(1H)-one (148 mg, 0.439 mmol) in MeOH (3 mL) and 1 M NaOH aqueous solution (5 mL) was stirred at 0° C. for 5 min and at room temperature for 2 h. The mixture was neutralized with 1 M HCl aqueous solution at 0° C. The mixture was extracted with EtOAc, washed with brine, dried over Na2SO4, filtered, concentrated in vacuo and purified by column chromatography on silica gel (hexane/EtOAc=50/50 to 0/100) to yield the title compound (69 mg, 59% yield) as a pale red solid: 1H NMR (DMSO-d6, 300 MHz): δ ppm 4.70 (1H, s), 6.65 (1H, d, J=7.9 Hz), 7.76-7.92 (2H, m), 7.99-8.17 (2H, m), 8.93 (1H, d, J=7.9 Hz).
