A solution of 4-chloro-6-[(2,6-difluorophenyl)amino]-2-(methylthio)-5-pyrimidinecarbaldehyde (200 mg, 0.63 mmol) in DMF (4.0 mL) and acetic anhydride (2.0 mL) was heated with a microwave (160° C.) for about 30 minutes. The resultant mixture was then concentrated. Flash chromatography (EtOAc/Hexane, 1:5) provided the title compound (109 mg, 51%): LC-MS m/z 340 (M+H)+.
