To a solution of 4-chloro-8-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-2-(methylsulfinyl)-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-7(8H)-one (2.0 g, 5.6 mmol) in DCM (100 ml) was added a solution of serinol (650 mg, 7.1 mmol) in DMF (5 ml). The mixture was stirred for 2 h, washed with water (2×50 ml), dried (Na2SO4), and evaporated. Flash chromatography (EtOAc/Hexane, 3:1) provided the title compound as a white solid (1.1 g, 50%): LC-MS m/z 383 (M+H)+ retention 2.45 min.
