In a manner similar to the method described in Example 1e, rac-(2R,3R,4R,5S)-3-(3-chloro-phenyl)-4-(4-chloro-phenyl)-4-cyano-5-(2,2-dimethyl-propyl)-pyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid (61.0 mg, 0.14 mmol) prepared in Example 1d was reacted with dimethylamine (1.0 M in THF, 2 mL), HATU (106.0 mg, 0.28 mmol) and iPr2NEt (38.8 mg, 0.30 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (2 mL) at rt overnight to give rac-(2R,3R,4R,5S)-3-(3-chloro-phenyl)-4-(4-chloro-phenyl)-4-cyano-5-(2,2-dimethyl-propyl)-pyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid dimethyl amide (57.8 mg, 90.0%).
