A solution of NaOH (1.00 g, 25 mmol) in water (5 mL) was added to a stirred solution of intermediate 7 (370 mg, 0.602 mmol) in MeOH (30 mL) and THF (10 mL). After 5 h, the solution was concentrated under vacuum. The pH was then adjusted to 5 with acetic acid (AcOH). Then, the reaction mixture was extracted with AcOEt, the organic layer dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered and the filtrate evaporated to yield 300 mg (83%) of 3-cyclohexyl-1-methyl-2-(2-{2-[methyl(2-{2-[methyl(sulfamoyl)amino]ethoxy}ethyl)amino]-2-oxoethoxy}phenyl)-1H-indole-6-carboxylic acid 8 as a white powder: m/z=601 (M+H)+.
