3-(3-Methylpyridazin-4-yloxy)pyridin-2-amine (0.50 g, 2.5 mmol) was dissolved in DMF (7 mL). N-Bromosuccinimide (0.46 g, 2.6 mmol) was added and the solution stirred at ambient temperature for 5 minutes. The solution was diluted with water and filtered through celite (rinsing with chloroform). The solution was extracted with chloroform, dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated. Flash chromatography gave 5-bromo-3-(3-methylpyridazin-4-yloxy)pyridin-2-amine (0.66 g, 95%).
