Procedure

To the solution of 4-[4-chloro-2-(3-chloro-benzoylamino)-phenyl]-3,6-dihydro-2H-pyridine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.504 g, 1.13 mmol) in dichloromethane (10 mL) is added trifluoroacetic acid (1 mL) in a dropwise fashion. The resulting reaction is allowed to stir at room temperature for 2 h. 2N NaOH aqueous solution is added to adjust the pH>12. The mixture is then extracted with dichloromethane 3×. The organic layers are combined, washed with brine 1×, dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated under vacuum to give 0.391 g of 3-chloro-N-[5-chloro-2-(1,2,3,6-tetrahydro-pyridin-4-yl)-phenyl]-benzamide in 99% yield.
