3-Benzenesulfonyl-2-methylsulfanyl-pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-4-ylideneamine (50 mg, 0.15 mmol) was dissolved in anhydrous methylenechloride (2 ml) to which 3-chloroperoxybenzoic acid powder (32 mg, 50-60%, ˜0.11 mmol) was added at 0° C. and stirred for 2 hours. In order to neutralize the reaction mixture, 2,6-tert-butyl-4-methylpyridine (38 mg, 90%, 0.17 mmol) was added. After concentration, the crude mixture was purified by preparative HPLC (XTerra™ MS C18 5.0 mM, MeOH/H2O as the eluent) to yield 26 mg of product as a pale yellow solid.
