Procedure
To a solution of [6-tert-butoxycarbonylamino-4-(5-chloro-2-methoxy-phenyl)-pyridin-2-yl]-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (220 mg, 0.49 mmol) in dichloromethane (8 ml) was added trifluoroacetic acid (6 ml). After stirring for 1 hour, volatiles were evaporated under reduced pressure. Treatment with toluene (15 ml) and evaporation of volatiles under reduced pressure provided 4-(5-chloro-2-methoxy-phenyl)-pyridine-2,6-diamine trifluoroacetic acid salt (180 mg, 100% yield).
