The product of Example 2, step (b) (5 g) was dissolved in diethyl malonate (100 ml) and heated to 120° C. for 10 hr, with stirring. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool and the solid that precipitated was filtered, washed with water and dried in the oven at 50° C. to yield the product as a yellow solid (3.2 g).
